Knights Archers is the student archery club of the University of Reading. We shoot regularly throughout all three terms. As a student club we are often the first experience of archery most people have, as such we welcome all skill levels and help train new members to become proficient archers. Thanks to funding from Reading University Student’s Union we are able to provide basic equipment for all new members. Whilst we are primarily a recurve (Olympic Style) archery club, we cater for longbows and compounds (having formerly had national success at Longbow archery).

We own a number of right and left handed recurve bows for members to use. However, you are more than welcome to bring your own equipment and many of our members choose to purchase their own when continuing in the sport. In the Autumn and Spring terms we shoot indoors at the SportsPark and in the Summer term we take advantage of the long evenings and warm weather and shoot on the rugby field outside Whiteknights House. During Summer we welcome members of other local archery clubs to join us for a nominal target fee in order to support the club.

If you’re interested in taking up the sport of Archery, why not come along to one of our sessions or send the committee an email at archery@reading.ac.uk.

Knights Archers are supported and funded by Reading University Student’s Union, and are a member of the Archery GB (formerly GNAS), the Southern Counties Archery Society and the Berkshire Archery Association. It is also part of the UK Student Archery Association, taking part in its South-East Archery League (SEAL).
